LeBron James is set to star in a sequel to Space Jam, according to a Deadline Hollywood report.
The report suggests Warner Bros. is developing a screenplay for the project as a vehicle for the NBA star.
Broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol‘s sons are developing the sequel, according to the report.
The original Space Jam was released in 1996 and starred Michael Jordan alongside the cast of characters from Looney Tunes. The film also featured several other NBA stars and grossed $230 million worldwide.
Back in 2012, James tweeted he would be interested in starring in Space Jam 2.
“Do you love Space Jam?” asked a fan. “Love that movie. Wish I could do Space Jam 2!” James tweeted.
