NASHVILLE, Tenn. (NewsChannel 5)– Emergency crews have responded to the scene of a plane crash in the Bellevue area, near Nashville.

The crash happened before 5 p.m. Monday around 8209 Westchase Court, in an area behind the Bellevue YMCA.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane involved is a Gulfstream 690C. According to flight records, it took off from Grand Bend, Kansas at 2:45 p.m. and was due to arrive at John C. Tune airport just before 5.

Flight records also showed four people on board.

The aircraft is registered to MidKansas Agri Company out of Pawnee, Kansas.

Metro Nashville Fire District Chief George Hickey described the scene on the ground as “a totally devastated area.”

An eyewitness told the fire officials the plane made a hard right bank and then hit the ground.
