SPOKANE, Wash. (CBS Seattle) – A new bar opened this past weekend in downtown Spokane and they claimed to have sold over 10 gallons of a drink called “Date Grape Koolaid.”

Protestors started to gather outside Daiquiri Factory before its grand opening on Saturday. The drink is one of 16 specialty drinks listed on the bar’s menu.

The bar seemed to enjoy the attention it was receiving from the drink’s name; while “fans” commented on the bar’s Facebook page.

The general manager of Daiquiri Factory told The Spokesman-Review, “the concept is give Spokane what it hasn’t had,” and that the bar was “catering to women.”

Urban Dictionary defines the term “date grape” as “when you or your loved one gets drunk on wine and end up hooking up.”
