WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson man set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s home and then stole a police car early Sunday morning.

According to WBTV, Anthony Scott Jordan, 41, is charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and larceny of a firearm, and one count each of first-degree arson, larceny of a motor vehicle and assault of a government official.

Officials said Jordan’s vehicle was seen in front of a home at 127 Crawford Lane “several minutes” before officers were dispatched to the home in reference to a fire.

While en route to the house fire, the officer who initially saw Jordan’s car at the home was passed by the same car traveling in the opposite direction.
The officer turned around and began chasing Jordan.

After he pulled over, the officer said he noticed that Jordan smelled of kerosene, at which point the officer arrested him and placed…
